2011This is a great local event that brings out top athletes from our area and from all across the region. Awards are given to the top male and female competitors as well as the top male and female finishers in each age category. If you don’t want to take on the entire event on your own, compete as a team! For more information or to register, go to www.salidatriathlon.com. Registration forms and course maps are also available at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center. Email [email protected] with any questions. Register before June 1 and get $5 off your entry fee! We also hold a kids' triathlon for youth ages 5-14 the following day. The Course: Swim: 1000 meters – Twenty laps in the Salida Hot Springs Pool. Water temperature on race day will be 80°-82°. Bike: 40K (25 miles) - Two loops on county roads and state highways. Road bikes are recommended. Run: 10K (6.2 miles) - Out-and-back along trail system, paved and dirt roads; hilly. Note: Duathlon course consists of the bike and then the run portion of the triathlon. |
